Royal Caribbean Group announced today that it has reached an agreement with Finnish shipyard Meyer Turku for the construction of a fourth Icon-class ship to be delivered in 2027.
This will bring the total number of Icon-class ships that Royal Caribbean International has in operation or under construction to four. The Icon of the Seas began sailing last December, while the Star of the Seas will arrive in August 2025. A third ship is on order for 2026, and we now know that another will be added in 2027.
In addition, the order includes an option to build a fifth and a sixth Icon-class ship.
“Building on the incredible momentum and market response to the launch of Icon of the Seas and the excitement surrounding its sister ship, Star of the Seas, arriving in 2025, we are thrilled to partner with Meyer Turku once again to expand our Icon-class roster and continue our future growth plans,” said Jason Liberty, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “Since its debut, Icon has been a game-changer for vacation experiences and has exceeded our expectations in both guest satisfaction and financial performance.

With this order, Meyer Turku will have built 21 ships for Royal Caribbean Group in 28 years.
