With a recent dry dock maintenance completed before embarkation on May 30 in Barcelona, the Carnival Legend, built in 2002, begins its European season with new offerings, renovated spaces and updated public areas.
Among the major improvements is the new Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge. Currently featured on 13 Carnival ships, it showcases authentic military memorabilia.
The Carnival Legend stands out for displaying the military boots of Deshauna Barber, godmother of the Carnival Vista and captain in the U.S. Army Reserve.
During the next four months, the Carnival Legend will conduct 16 cruises around Europe with departures from Barcelona, Dover and Civitavecchia (Rome).
New spaces have also been added on board, such as Chef's Table, Dreams Studio, and a dedicated area for Carnival Adventures (shore excursions). The ship's steakhouse has also been renovated and is now called Fahrenheit 555, the casino has been expanded, and the spa is now called Cloud 9 Spa and Fitness Center.
The onboard shops were also remodeled, and a new mini-golf course was installed on the upper deck. In addition, the Circle C and Camp Ocean youth areas also have a new look.
Over the next four months, the Carnival Legend will make 16 cruises around Europe departing from Barcelona, Dover and Civitavecchia (Rome), visiting destinations in Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Italy and Greece.
In October, the Carnival Legend will relocate to its new homeport in Tampa via a transatlantic Carnival Journeys cruise. Next year, the Carnival Legend's sister ship, the Carnival Miracle, will sail the European season and add Lisbon as a departure port.
