The two new additions to the fleet, A-ROSA ALEA and A-ROSA CLEA, made their debut for A-ROSA last weekend.
On Friday, April 5, the A-ROSA ALEA departed Cologne to sail south of the Rhine, calling at Basel, Strasbourg, Mainz, and Koblenz. On Sunday, April 7, its sister ship, the A-ROSA CLEA, followed, visiting Willemstad, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Hoorn, and Emmerich during a seven-night voyage.
In the 2024 season, the two 110-meter-long ships will sail the popular Rhine itineraries, offering a variety of four- to seven-night cruises from Cologne to major cities in the Netherlands and Belgium, to historical sites along the Middle Rhine and Moselle Valleys, and to cities in the triangle between Germany, France, and Switzerland.
In the lead-up to Christmas, cruises featuring Christmas markets, including stops in Strasbourg, Frankfurt, Mainz, and Rüdesheim, are on the program. This season's New Year's Eve cruise will take both ships south of the Rhine to Basel, where A-ROSA guests will celebrate the New Year for the first time.
“With these two additions, we are responding to the growing demand for our city breaks by boat and expanding our fleet with the corresponding capabilities,” commented Jörg Eichler, CEO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH.
“We are delighted that with A-ROSA ALEA and A-ROSA CLEA we have been able to add two ships to our program that complement the A-ROSA fleet in a valuable way. The impressions of our first guests, who are currently on board and praise both the atmosphere and the excellent service already known, confirm this.”.
On board, guests can enjoy A-ROSA service, as well as the Full Board Plus option, and choose their own breakfast and lunch from the buffet. In the evening, in addition to a buffet of starters and desserts, guests can choose from a selection of main courses that changes daily and is served directly to their table.
In the Panorama Lounge, located at the bow of both ships, guests can also indulge in delicious creations from the A-ROSA Bar Menu while enjoying the best views of the surrounding landscape.
“Thanks to their shorter length, the two ships can call at even more exclusive ports than other A-ROSA vessels. With space for up to 140 guests, they also offer a very intimate travel experience and are ideal for couples, groups of friends, or solo travelers,” explains Eichler.
Following its debut season in 2024, A-ROSA ALEA will relocate to the Seine for the 2025 season, sailing from Paris to Normandy and Le Havre. A-ROSA VIVA, currently operating there, will then return to its original Rhine/Main/Moselle cruising region.
Next year, A-ROSA CLEA will embark on various cruises from Frankfurt along the Main, Moselle and Middle Rhine Valley before opening a new cruise region in Bordeaux, in the Gironde/Garonne, from 2026.
