Windstar Cruises and its first “Mystery Cruise” for 2025

Windstar Cruises, the luxury cruise line with small ships, will have its first “President’s Mystery Cruise”, departing on April 19, 2025.

The eight-day voyage is for Windstar Yacht Club members and their friends, and will depart from and return to Athens. The remaining ports of call will remain a mystery to passengers aboard Windstar's Star Legend, which accommodates 312 passengers in all suites.

Unannounced destinations will remain secret until 24 hours before arrival at each port. Once the exact locations are revealed, Windstar passengers will be able to choose from a variety of shore excursions at the destination.

“There are going to be a lot of places, most, if not all, that we haven’t been to before,” said Windstar President Christopher Prelog.

On board the Star Legend, guests will also have the opportunity to meet Prelog, as this “Mystery Cruise” will also do what the company’s popular Annual President’s Cruise does, in which guests have the opportunity to meet the leaders of this small, personal cruise line.

“The team is keeping the itinerary a secret, even from me,” Prelog confesses. “They know I get excited about things and can’t help but share them; I’m really looking forward to discovering where we’re going along with the guests on board.”

Speaking about this innovative new concept, Prelog says the idea was inspired by Windstar's recent voyage through Tahiti and the Tuamotu Islands aboard the Star Breeze.

Just two days into the 11-day itinerary, Tropical Cyclone Nat disrupted the ship's travel plans, forcing the onboard team to devise a completely new itinerary to avoid the bad weather.

The positive response from guests, which included a great sense of adventure, led management to embrace this idea, and thus the concept of the "Mystery Cruise" was developed.

“It’s like reawakening the sense of adventure, which is what travel should always be about,” says Prelog. “It’s something different, something really interesting. It’s a cruise for guests who love adventure and don’t want to plan everything.”
