Virgin Voyages ' Resilient Lady arrived at Darwin Harbour on its inaugural stop this Monday, November 27.
Passengers on board were welcomed with a Welcome Ceremony on the Darwin (Australia) waterfront organized by NT Tourism.
Following maritime tradition, the exchange of plaques took place, followed by lunch on board and a farewell, courtesy of the port of Darwin.
The Resilient Lady, which debuted earlier this year, arrived in Darwin during its 15-night overnight voyage through Singapore, Bali and Australia, having departed from Singapore on November 20.
The arrival in the Northern Territory marks Virgin Voyages' first stop in Australia. It also marks the beginning of the Resilient Lady's journey along Australia's east coast.
After leaving the port of Darwin, the ship set course for Yorkeys Knowles, Australia, where it is expected to arrive on November 30. The Resilient Lady is also scheduled to stop in Airlie Beach before arriving in Sydney on December 4.

We’ve been dreaming of sailing around Australia and New Zealand for years, so arriving in Darwin and entering Australian waters is an incredible moment for us. We can’t wait to see what our MerMaiden journey from Melbourne has in store,” said Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages.
During their stay in Darwin, cruisers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture. Among the Shore Things (Virgin Voyages' shore excursions) are visits to the Darwin Botanic Gardens or the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT).
Also offered are an eco-cruise along Darwin's waterways, a food tour sampling Top End, and a helicopter tour of Outback pubs.
