MOL Cruises has recently launched a new cruise brand, “MITSUI OCEAN CRUISES”, introducing “Mitsui Ocean Fuji” as the name of the new ship that will be launched for passenger service in December 2024.
The Mitsui Ocean Fuji will be MOL Cruises' second ship, joining the Nippon Maru. Passengers aboard the Mitsui Ocean Fuji will experience a blend of high-quality Japanese service and hospitality, known as "Omotenashi," with luxurious Western amenities. Mitsui Ocean Cruises also announced that the new ship will embark on a world cruise in April 2025. This all-cabin and all-suite cruise ship was acquired from Seabourn Cruise Line Limited in March 2023.
The Mitsui OSK Lines Group created its new management plan, “Blue Action 2035,” in March 2023 to diversify its portfolio and offset the volatility of the commercial shipping industry. To achieve this, it will focus heavily on its cruise business. Specifically, it will expand its international travel business and customer base, including inbound and domestic customers, by launching several new cruise ships in the future. This will contribute to enhancing the corporate value of the Mitsui OSK Lines Group and realizing its vision.
