26,000 passengers will disembark at the Port of Cartagena aboard 22 cruise ships during the month of October, where a triple stop and three double stops are expected, making it the second best month of the year.
Today the first cruise ships of the month arrived in a double luxury stop with the ships Silver Nova and Scenic Eclipse, which brought more than 900 passengers, consigned by Erhardt Mediterráneo and Agencia Marítima Blázquez.
The Silver Nova, from the Silversea cruise line, which made its first stop in Cartagena on September 21st, docked at 8:00 AM from Málaga and will depart for Valencia at 6:00 PM. It is one of the ultra-luxury ships distinguished by its environmental awareness, powered by three sustainable energy sources: hydrogen fuel cells, batteries, and hybrid fuel engines that use liquefied natural gas (LNG) as their primary fuel. It also boasts a pioneering horizontal design in its common areas, making it the most spacious cruise ship.
The Scenic Eclipse cruise ship, from Scenic Cruises, also arrived at 8 a.m. from Ibiza and will depart at 3 p.m. for Malaga.
Tomorrow will see the second double stop of the month with the exclusive Corinthian cruise ships, from Grand Circle Cruise Line, with a capacity for 100 passengers, and Le Lyrial, from Compagnie du Ponant, with a capacity for 260 travelers.
The next and final double stop will be on October 30 with the Carnival Pride, from Carnival Cruises, and the Star Flyer, from the Star Clippers shipping company, bringing about 2,000 passengers to the port.
The triple stop is scheduled for October 12, with 8,000 tourists aboard the Britannia cruise ship, from P&O Cruises, the Marella Voyager cruise ship, from Marella Cruises, and the Viking Venus cruise ship, from Viking Ocean Cruises.
The Mein Schiff 4 cruise ship, from the TUI shipping company, will visit us for the first time on October 11.
These figures show the Port of Cartagena as a stopover destination for luxury and super-luxury cruises, considering that 70% of the ships that will arrive at the Port of Cartagena will be exclusive.
The port of Cartagena expects to receive over 63,000 tourists aboard 52 cruise ships in the last quarter of 2023. The forecast for the end of 2023 is 150 port calls and over 180,000 passengers.
