On May 11th and 12th, the Porto Cruise Terminal, North Quay, welcomed the World Explorer cruise ship , the first passenger ship built in Portugal. Approximately 140 passengers disembarked at the Porto Cruise Terminal, North Quay, after a voyage to Madeira and the Azores. The World Explorer then embarked on a new journey to Northern Europe, with around 90 new passengers boarding. This turnaround operation was a complete success, involving the Port Authority, the Maritime Police, and Customs.
On the other hand, last Sunday (May 21), the "turnaround" operation of the Sea Cloud Spirit, the new ship that has joined the fleet of historic sailing ships of Sea Cloud Cruises, took place.
Built in 2020 and launched in 2021, it is currently the world's largest sailing ship, with a total length of 138 m and a gross tonnage of 4,230 tons.
A seven-day outbound voyage from Málaga, having visited Gibraltar, Cádiz, Portimão, and Lisbon, concluded at the Port of Leixões. Sixty passengers were on board and disembarked at our Porto Cruise Terminal, North Quay, in the morning. In the afternoon, approximately fifty new passengers embarked on a new voyage from the Porto Cruise Terminal to Bilbao, with planned stops in Vigo, Vilagarcía de Arousa, and Gijón.
This route change operation was also a success and involved the participation of the Port Authorities, the Portuguese Maritime Police, and Customs.
