The Icon of the Seas will be the world's largest ship when it debuts in 2024 for Royal Caribbean International, and before that it has already broken sales records.
“Despite being on sale for only five months, the Icon has far more bookings for its inaugural season than any other Royal Caribbean ship,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, during the presentation of the company’s first-quarter results.
Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, added: “Icon is literally the best-performing new product launch we’ve ever had in the history of our business, and we’re thrilled with the volume and the fare, and that’s really a full product for 2024… it’s really driving a lot of demand and a great fare.”
Following the Icon, the company will have another Oasis-class ship in 2024, the Utopia of the Seas, in addition to two more Icon-class ships, which will be launched in 2025 and 2026, respectively.
