Global Ports has appointed industry veteran Francesco Balbi as its new director to drive the success of its new port following the recent signing of the 15-year concession agreement with the joint venture Global Ports Holding. With over 25 years of experience in the maritime and cruise industry, Balbi will be responsible for managing and enhancing the guest experience at the Port of Alicante Cruises.
Previously, Francesco was Director of Environment at MSC Cruises. He was also a member of the European Cruise Council's Environment Subcommittee. In 2014, Balbi was appointed Managing Director of the Alicante Cruise Terminal and subsequently served as President of the Alicante Costa Blanca Tourism and Cruise Association, promoting the destination.
In his new role, Francesco will ensure the highest standards of guest experience at the Port of Alicante. His expertise will also play a key role in achieving Global Ports Holding's objectives of enhancing the customer experience, promoting the destination, and collaborating with local stakeholders.
