Cruise port operator Global Ports Holding Plc has signed a 15-year cruise port concession for the Port of Alicante in Spain. The award was announced on December 16, 2022.
Global Ports Holding expects to take over cruise operations in Alicante during March 2023.
The Port Authority of Alicante is improving the port area with a multi-million euro investment that will integrate the port and the city. Alongside this investment, and as part of the concession agreement, up to €2 million is planned for the renovation and modernization of the cruise terminal.
With over 100,000 passengers annually, the Port of Alicante Cruises is one of the fastest-growing cruise destinations on Spain's east coast. The port boasts excellent air connections and is ideally located for inclusion in a variety of Mediterranean itineraries.
