Royal Caribbean International presents “Creating Surfside,” episode 5 of “Making an Icon.” Taking into account the ideas and feedback of travelers, Royal Caribbean International has decided to create a completely unique destination on the Icon of the Seas. This new episode reveals the why and how of creating its first neighborhood designed exclusively for young families: adults, children, and grandparents alike can take the experience to the next level and enjoy it together without commitment in Surfside.
Surfside is a destination where you can enjoy yourself all day long. At Baby Bay and Splashaway Bay, children can splash around while adults enjoy the best ocean views at the Water's Edge pool, complete with sun loungers and floating islands. Families will also enjoy a fantastic carousel featuring eight new beach-themed characters chosen by and for children, and more attractions to keep them entertained all day, such as the Arcade and the climbable Playscape.
To recharge between adventures, the family-friendly neighborhood offers entirely new ways to grab a bite that both kids and the rest of the family can enjoy at places like Surfside Eatery, a family-oriented buffet; The Lemon Post, a family-friendly bar with separate adult and kids' menus; Surfside Bites, a spot for a quick snack between adventures; and Pier 7, a new specialty restaurant serving all-day brunch
Also new to Icon is the Ultimate Family Townhouse, three floors full of adventures, with direct access to Surfside from its private patio.
