On July 17th at 7:00 AM, the MSC Bellissima cruise ship, belonging to MSC Cruises, docked at the new Balearic Wharf in the Port of Tarragona. With a length of 315 meters, a gross tonnage of 171,589, and a capacity for 5,686 passengers, it is the largest cruise ship to have ever called at the Port of Tarragona.

Representatives of the Port Authority of Tarragona, led by Núria Obiols, Director of Port Operations, presented a commemorative plaque marking this first arrival in the waters of the Port of Tarragona to the ship's captain, Roberto Leotta.
Also present at the event were Alba Colet from Global Ports Holding, Montse Royo from Bergé Marítima, Eugenia Mendoza from Lantimar, and representatives from MSC.
The ship's stop in Tarragona involved the partial embarkation and disembarkation of some 408 and 433 passengers respectively and lasted a little over 13 hours, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., when the Bellíssima set sail from the Muelle de las Balears.
This was the first of nine calls the cruise line will make in Tarragona this year. Eight more calls are planned for 2022, in addition to the MSC Magnifica cruise ship's call, which was already scheduled for November 11.
The MSC Bellissima arrived in Tarragona from Valencia. From there it sailed to Genoa, from where it was scheduled to continue to the Italian ports of Livorno and Naples. The ship will call at Tarragona on Sundays, July 31, August 21, September 4 and 25, and October 9, 16, and 23.
