Cruise lines are monitoring the situation in Ukraine following the Russian invasion, and while some have already modified their itineraries, others are considering doing so for their Baltic cruises.
Norwegian Cruise Line and Viking Cruises have already abandoned their planned stops in St. Petersburg.
For its part, P&O Cruises is studying the modification of its itineraries, emphasizing its utmost interest in compliance with regulations, the protection of the environment and the health, safety and well-being of its passengers, crew members, employees on land and the inhabitants of the places they visit.
Royal Caribbean International is reviewing its plans to call at the Russian Baltic city while continuing to monitor the situation: “The safety of our guests and crew is always our top priority. With recent events, it is increasingly uncertain whether we will be able to visit St. Petersburg, Russia, as planned. We have identified alternative ports and will continue to monitor the situation in the coming weeks.”
Saga Cruises has already modified its upcoming Black Sea cruise, which was scheduled to stop in Odessa, while maintaining the rest of the cruise, which remains unaffected. Even so, the company will continue to monitor the situation and make any necessary changes to its itineraries, while continuing to ensure the best possible experience for its guests.
Atlas Ocean Voyages has adjusted two Baltic itineraries for late summer 2022 as a result of the invasion. Its ship, the World Navigator, has removed St. Petersburg from its Hamburg-Kiel itinerary, departing August 26, 2022, and from its round-trip Kiel itinerary, departing September 7, replacing its Russian stops with equally exciting destinations in Finland and Estonia.
