SeaDream resumes operations in Norway in June 2020

Following the voluntary pause of its operations since March, SeaDream Yacht Club announces its plans to begin sailing in Norway in June 2020, accepting bookings for its 9 cruises around Norway between June and September, which include destinations carefully selected by SeaDream's Norwegian founder and owner, Atle Brynestad.

As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, SeaDream avoided contamination thanks to strict health and safety procedures, excellent onboard medical infrastructure, and the professionalism of its crew. However, the company decided to pause operations due to travel restrictions, and the yachts were relocated to Lisbon, with the crew on board, where they underwent maintenance and upgrades. The chefs have spent their time creating new dishes, and the deck team has painted, replaced the teak decking, and carried out other maintenance tasks without inconveniencing guests.

For nearly 20 years, SeaDream has set its own standards for service and cleanliness. This has allowed the company to resume sailing safely and without delay. The company continues to closely monitor global health and travel restrictions and can adapt its itineraries quickly if necessary.

“It’s clear that without our passengers, the yachts aren’t the same, and the crew really misses serving our guests,” said Andreas Brynestad of SeaDream. While SeaDream typically operates in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, this time it will sail north, beyond the Arctic Circle, so guests can experience the midnight sun, the spectacular Lofoten Fjords, and Tromsø. “We believe there’s no better way to enjoy Norway this summer than aboard SeaDream, and we know our guests will enjoy the experience. Our yachts offer a natural and healthy open-air environment where space, fresh air, and healthy food have always been essential, and we’re very excited to get back to doing what we do best: bringing our signature SeaDream service to our guests,” said Andreas Brynestad.

The newly announced voyages include two options: a 7-day cruise to Bergen and a 12-day cruise with 3 days in Lofoten, one of Norway's premier destinations. SeaDream voyages are unlike any other luxury travel experience. SeaDream sails to some of the region's smaller ports, giving guests the opportunity to feel as if they are on their own private escape.

The Norwegian itinerary includes the following destinations:
– Bergen: Known to Norwegians as “the heart of the fjords,” and Norway’s second-largest city. Two 7-day cruises will depart from Bergen and return to Oslo, with a third voyage starting in Oslo and ending in Bergen. In addition, the six 12-day cruises will offer the opportunity to explore its cobbled streets and world-renowned cuisine.
– Olden: A small town located at the mouth of the Oldeelva River, Norway’s gateway to the glaciers. SeaDream guests will have the opportunity to explore its steep mountains and beautiful waterfalls, as well as many historical sites, on all nine cruises.
– Ålesund: SeaDream guests will be delighted by the Art Nouveau architecture and scenery of this city that stretches across several islands in the Atlantic Ocean. This destination is included on all nine new Norwegian itineraries.
– Lofoten: a beloved summer destination for Norwegians; the Lofoten Islands stretch across the Norwegian Sea, well above the Arctic Circle. SeaDream guests aboard 12-day cruises will enjoy three days in this location with unforgettable scenery, majestic mountains, stunning fjords, and beaches, all while enjoying up to 24 hours of sunlight per day.
– These itineraries also include other ports such as Geiranger, Flåm, Rosendal, Skagen, Rorvk, and Tromsø.

The new itineraries around Norway will be enhanced by a wide selection of exciting new adventures in Yachting Land to ensure that customers have the opportunity to experience the best that each port has to offer with unique adventures.

The SeaDream experience is known for its personalized and award-winning service, 5-star cuisine, intimate ports and exceptional onboard features, such as the Balinese Dream beds for sleeping under the stars or its Watersports Marina for water sports.
