Madrid, July 20, 2018 – Pullmantur Cruises – the only cruise line on the market that brings the Spanish lifestyle to the cruise experience – has added Madeira to its Canary Islands and Agadir route. The Portuguese island is now included as a regular stop on the company's Canary Islands, Madeira, and Agadir itinerary
Thus, the more than 30,000 guests that Pullmantur Cruises expects this season will visit three countries in the same week: Spain (Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma and Lanzarote), Portugal (Funchal) and Morocco (Agadir).
With embarkation in Gran Canaria (Saturday) and Tenerife (Sunday), this eight-day, seven-night route aboard the Zenith will begin on November 17, 2018, and run until March 31, 2019, for a total of 20 departures. For passengers traveling from mainland Spain, an optional flight is available from Madrid and Barcelona.
According to Richard J. Vogel, President & CEO of Pullmantur Cruises, this year “will be the third consecutive year we operate in the Canary Islands; a testament to our commitment to this destination, which boasts great beauty, appeal, and uniqueness.” He adds, “It’s the ideal option for a winter break in a nearby location with fantastic weather.”
In addition, Vogel comments: “We decided to add Madeira to this route because we want to give our passengers the opportunity to visit this increasingly popular destination; in fact, last year the island broke its tourist record.”.
The itinerary
During their journey, guests will be amazed by the natural diversity of the Canary Islands, distinguished by their strong volcanic character, and the contrasts that reign in the archipelago: from the black, lunar-like lands of Lanzarote; through the green and lush laurel forests of La Palma, to the dunes of Maspalomas and the amazing Teide.
And all this, without giving up the exoticism of the Moroccan coast, visiting Marrakech, the so-called 'Red City'; and the impressive natural landscapes of Funchal.
Special departures
In addition, this route has two special departures:
- New Year's Eve in the Canary Islands, Madeira, and Agadir: This unique seven-night cruise, new for the 2017-2018 season, includes Agadir. The Zenith will spend the night of December 31st anchored in Funchal so guests can enjoy the world-famous fireworks display.
Boarding: December 29 (Gran Canaria) and 30 (Tenerife).
Stops: Gran Canaria / Tenerife – Funchal (overnight) – Sailing – Agadir – Lanzarote – Gran Canaria / Tenerife.
- Carnival in the Canary Islands: also lasting seven nights, this trip modifies its regular itinerary to spend the night in La Palma and enjoy the famous Carnival of the Indians.
Boarding: March 2 (Gran Canaria) and 3 (Tenerife).
Stops: Gran Canaria / Tenerife – La Palma (overnight) – Sailing – Agadir – Lanzarote – Gran Canaria / Tenerife.
