Italian shipyards Fincantieri have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Princess Cruises for the construction of two new generation ships of 175,000 gross registered tons, which would be the largest ships ever built in Italy.
These would be ships with a capacity for 4,300 passengers, based on a new-generation platform and powered by dual-fuel engines using liquefied natural gas as the primary fuel. Their expected delivery dates are late 2023 and spring 2025.
