From January to April, the Port of Funchal recorded a movement of 133 cruise ship calls that brought a total of 252,643 passengers and 93,368 crew members to Madeira.
Compared to the same period last year, there were 22 more stopovers, 52,525 more passengers, and 18,183 more crew members.
In April, an increase in all figures was confirmed, with a 19% increase in stopovers (44) and a 14% increase in passengers.
These are very positive figures, although lower than those achieved in March, when the Port of Funchal experienced exceptional growth across all variables, with a 50% increase in the number of port calls and passengers compared to the previous year. In March, 33 port calls were recorded, 11 more than the previous year.
