We have made a selection of themed cruises for 2018.
Some themed cruises offer the chance to meet our favorite artists, authors, or athletes, or to attend conferences where we can learn more about a topic we're passionate about. For example, a golf cruise allows cruisers who love this sport to practice their skills with a series of stops where they can try out internationally renowned courses, while a dance cruise offers activities for both experienced dancers and those just starting out in this fun hobby.
THEMED CRUISES CAN BE DIVIDED INTO THREE CATEGORIES:
Full-ship themed cruise: The entire ship participates in themed activities and entertainment. Every area of the cruise ship is themed, from the pool deck for concerts to the dining room where you can enjoy specially designed menus. Full-ship themed cruises can be chartered by an independent company or offered by the cruise line itself.
Partial Themed Cruise: Themed cruises don't always occupy the entire ship. Participants will stay in different cabin categories and can enjoy a variety of activities related to the cruise's theme. These groups generally don't affect the ship's daily schedule. However, on occasion, some public spaces may be used for the themed cruise activities.
Themed cruises: Cruise lines advertise these themed voyages, featuring special activities or guest speakers within the regular itinerary program. Are you fascinated by marine life? Paul Gauguin Cruises has, on occasion, even hosted the renowned Jean-Michel Cousteau on an oceanographic cruise, advising on some of its activities.
Themed cruises in Spain haven't yet reached the same level of popularity as in other markets. But over time, they're sure to gain traction among Spanish cruisers. It's a winning formula, combining a passion for sailing with motivating inspiration, whether it's a hobby, a celebrity, or a movie.
Walking Dead Walker Stalker Cruise: Fans of The Walking Dead can rub shoulders with stars of the show like Norman Reedus (Daryl), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan), as well as creator Robert Kirkman. Just like at a convention, fans will have autograph sessions, panels with cast members, meet-and-greets, and special narrated screenings. Cinema and F1 on the Riviera: This themed cruise allows you to attend the most exclusive events on the French Riviera. On the first night of the itinerary, you'll walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, and then you can get your adrenaline pumping at the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. An itinerary packed with culture, film, and sports, with stops in Livorno, Cannes, Ajaccio, Monte Carlo, and Barcelona. Star Trek: The Cruise II: Fans of this legendary series, known as Trekkies, can join host George Takei for a host of themed activities. Enjoy themed nights, board games, screenings under the stars, and Q&A sessions with over 20 actors and personalities from the show. This cruise will take place on two dates, January 5th and January 11th, 2018, departing from Miami and sailing to the Caribbean.
Rock Legends Cruise VI: The Rock Legends Cruise is a classic themed cruise. This 2018 marks the sixth edition of this rock festival at sea aboard Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas. Enjoy over 60 rock concerts, meet-and-greets with artists, talks, and more. The flavor of the Caribbean islands will also be onboard with Sammy's Beach Rum Bar, featuring tropical drinks made with their award-winning rum. Departure is scheduled for February 15th from Fort Lauderdale.
Star Wars Day at Sea on Disney Cruise Line: If you're a Star Wars fan and love cruising, Star Wars Day at Sea on Disney Cruise Line could be your ultimate vacation experience. Star Wars characters will be interacting with passengers on the pool deck and around the ship, posing for photos. Star Wars movies (including recent releases) will be playing on the poolside screen and in the theater. Special activities include Star Wars trivia games, a Jedi training program to learn lightsaber skills, and a battle against Darth Vader. There will also be themed crafts at the kids' clubs, a fireworks show, and a rooftop party with Star Wars heroes and villains. The restaurant and beverage menus will feature special food and cocktails for the day.
Silversea Wellness Expeditions: Discover the world and discover yourself—that's the idea behind the Silversea Wellness Expeditions offered aboard Silver Discoverer. These extraordinary expedition voyages combine the thrill of exploration with a holistic approach to rejuvenation. The Independence of the Seas will host a heavy metal cruise in February, while the Carnival Sensation will bring together Backstreet Boys fans in May.
