Global Ports Holding Plc, the world's leading port operator, highlights the incentive program for cruise ships with more than 100 passengers, recently approved by the Turkish government, which covers calls in 2018 and 2019.
GPH operates three cruise ports in Turkey: Kusadasi, the gateway to Ephesus; Bodrum, home to one of the seven wonders of the world; and Antalya, the new turnaround hub in the Eastern Mediterranean.
A summary of the details of the incentives available through the Turkish Cruise Tourism Incentive Package would be as follows:
- Validity period: January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019
- Scope: Any cruise ship with more than 100 passengers (excluding Turkish passengers)
- The incentive will be paid through Shorex agencies
- Incentive range
- Low season (January, February, March, April, November, December): $45 per passenger
- Mid-season (May, June): $35 per passenger
- High season (July, August, September, October): $25 per passenger
- In 2019, companies that turnaround in Turkish ports will receive an additional 50% of the incentives outlined above
- Airlines with stops in more than one Turkish port on the same itinerary will receive the incentive in only one of them.
