MSC Cruises, the world's largest privately owned cruise company based in Switzerland and a market leader in Europe, South America and South Africa, has been awarded "Best Popular Cruise Line" and "Best Line for First-Time Cruisers" at the Cruise Excellence Awards gala, presented annually by Cruises News Media Group.
MSC Cruises' Marketing and Communications Director in Spain, Luigi Surace, and the company's Area Manager for the Levante region, Luis Blanes, accepted the awards on behalf of the cruise line. The event, held at the El Batel Auditorium in Cartagena, was attended by approximately 350 industry professionals, among other prominent figures in the tourism sector. “It is a great honor for us to receive these awards, which recognize the company's commitment to providing the best service every day. We are very proud that MSC Cruises is recognized by cruise passengers and industry specialists year after year. Indeed, one of our fundamental objectives is to offer our customers the best experience and meet all their needs,” stated the company's Marketing and Communications Director.
Once again, MSC Cruises has been chosen as the favorite among first-time cruisers at the industry's most prestigious awards. Luis Blanes, Area Manager for the Levante region of MSC Cruises, stated that they will continue "working hard to make that first trip unforgettable and, above all, the beginning of many more." In 2016, the cruise line was also chosen as having "Best Brand Image among Consumers."
The Excellence Cruise Awards, celebrating their tenth edition this year, are the first and only awards specializing in the cruise industry in Spain. The awards are given based on passenger feedback, with the aim of recognizing the key players in the sector across a dozen different categories. During the ceremony, Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, sent a video message of thanks to Cruisenews Media Group for their work, as well as to the city and port of Cartagena.
