The Rome Cruise Terminal has announced that it has signed an agreement with Itinera / Zambonini for the construction of the new cruise passenger terminal in the port of Civitavecchia.
Work on the terminal will begin in November and the project is expected to be completed in 2018.
Two passenger boarding bridges and a 200-meter walkway will facilitate access. The bridge will also serve to separate passengers from vehicle traffic at the docks.
John Portelli, Managing Director of the Rome Cruise Terminal, said: “We are eager to see the start of construction on the new terminal. The new terminal will further consolidate Civitavecchia’s role in the cruise industry.”.
The terminal will also incorporate some of the suggestions that cruise companies proposed during the design phase.
