State Ports and 24 Port Authorities participate in the 11th edition of Seatrade Cruise Med

Spanish State Ports and 24 Port Authorities will participate in the 11th Seatrade Cruise Med 2016 Trade Fair and Congress, which will be held from September 21 to 23, under the auspices of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The strong Spanish presence at this edition confirms the importance of the cruise industry to Spanish tourism (8.4 million passengers, €1.2 billion in revenue, and 25,000 jobs generated).

Most of the ports will gather at the PORTS OF SPAIN institutional stand, under the slogan "Blue Carpet: Enter Spain on a blue carpet", giving a global image of Spain, and boosting the cruise sector in our country from the point of view of the improvement in port facilities, and the cultural and tourist offer

The main Port Authorities have confirmed their presence at the Ports of Spain stand. The Spanish representation is completed by important companies related to the cruise industry with a strong international presence, as well as companies in the food sector and others related to the pharmaceutical industry.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife will become the epicenter of the cruise industry for a week. The Seatrade Cruise Med trade fair and congress is the most important event dedicated to the cruise industry in Europe. In addition, meetings and conferences will be held, expected to draw some 600 delegates and executives from the leading cruise lines.

Cruise passenger traffic reached its all-time high in 2015, with 8.4 million cruise passengers, a figure that confirms that Spanish destinations have become regular stops on all routes covering the various European circuits, with some of our ports ranking among the top destinations worldwide.
