After 32 months of construction at the STX France shipyard and the work of thousands of employees, the Harmony of the Seas has arrived in Spain. Its inauguration will take place on June 5th in Barcelona, the port where it will be based this season. The new Royal Caribbean International ship, with a gross tonnage of 226,963, has become the largest in the world, surpassing the Allure of the Seas and the Oasis of the Seas, both also owned by Royal Caribbean.
The Harmony of the Seas, belonging to Royal Caribbean's Oasis class (which has the largest ships in the world), has 18 decks, capacity for 6,780 passengers at full occupancy, 2,100 crew members and a total of 2,747 cabins.
The Harmony of the Seas will be the first of its kind to feature innovations such as the Bionic Bar, with robot bartenders preparing cocktails, virtual balconies in interior cabins, and VOOM, the fastest internet connection at sea.
the Harmony of the Seas will offer 7-night Mediterranean cruises departing from Barcelona, with itineraries visiting major European ports and cities such as Palma, Marseille, La Spezia, Rome, and Naples. With the arrival of autumn, it will cross the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where it will establish its home port and offer Caribbean cruises.
Among the great attractions of Harmony of the Seas are: Playaway Bay, an interactive water park for children, shows ranging from the Broadway hit Grease, to the technology of the ice shows that will take place in Studio B, passing through the acrobatic and aquatic jump show of the AquaTheater, and, for the first time, Puzzle Break, a group activity in which the participants in a group must solve a puzzle that will take place in a space decorated in the Hollywood style.
The Harmony of the Seas boasts 20 restaurants to offer the greatest gastronomic variety, including the new specialty restaurants: Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, Sabor Taqueria and Tequila Bar; as well as Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine, an environment in which Royal Caribbean chefs will demonstrate all their creativity.
