The Port of Tarragona expects to receive 22 cruise ships this year, double the number in 2015, according to the Tarragona Port Authority (APT).
During April 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, the port received two cruise ships, bringing a total of 600 visitors. According to the Port Authority of Tarragona (APT), they are already reaping the rewards of the strategy launched three years ago to position Tarragona in the cruise market.
On one side, the Windstar with 150 passengers, mostly Americans, which arrived from Ibiza and will set sail for Barcelona.
Meanwhile, the Berlin, a member of Columbia Cruise Services, docked in Tarragona with 412 passengers. There, they were able to visit the city center, Montblanc and Poblet, Barcelona, and a local winery. After their stay in the Catalan city, they set sail for Saint-Tropez.
