The city of Cartagena will host the Excellence Cruise Awards ceremony for the first time.
The city of Cartagena will host the Cruise Excellence Awards ceremony for the first time on February 18th at the El Batel Auditorium, sponsored by the Cartagena Port Authority, the Cartagena City Council, and BC Agency. As in previous years, the gala will bring together leading executives from cruise lines, tour operators, shipping agents, ports and destinations, travel agents, the press, partners, and other industry suppliers. The Cruise Excellence Awards recognize key players in the industry across 12 different categories. The winners are selected based on a large-scale survey of cruise passengers conducted since last November.
The other sponsors are Bags & Go, Spanish Golf Cruises, ASEAM, Autocares Vidal, and Cruises Atlantic Islands. The Awards are supported by Medcruise.
The Excellence Cruise Awards, whose first edition was held in 2008 in Barcelona, are a brand of Cruises News MediaGroup, organizer of the International Cruise Summit in Madrid and publisher of CruisesNews magazine.

The promotion of Cartagena as a cruise destination is supported by the commitment of cruise lines and passengers. Thus, the port and city of Cartagena closed 2015 with the arrival of 151,195 cruise passengers across 108 port calls, with a forecast for 2016 of around 200,000 tourists on 118 ships.
