In a meeting held between the Port Authority of Cadiz and the City Council of the capital, the need to collaborate jointly on the Port Authority's proposal to make Cadiz a home port for cruise ships, due to the socio-economic impact that this activity would generate in the environment, from the point of view of the generation of employment and wealth.
In this regard, the City Council views the proposal positively and decides to convene an extraordinary Cruise Observatory in order to present and involve the other competent administrations and agents in this strategy.
In this way, the possibility of creating an agreement between the City Council and the Port Authority has also been put on the table in order to include and regulate the collaborations between both bodies, such as the transfer of spaces for special events, the impact of the IBI, etc.
It should be remembered that the Port Authority's institutional commission is made up of the president and the director, as well as part of the management team, and the City Council's commission is made up of the mayor, the deputy mayor for Urban Planning and the deputy mayor for Development.
