The Port of A Coruña will receive its first triple call of the year tomorrow, Tuesday. The ships are the Saga Pearl III, arriving at 11:00 AM from Southampton and departing at 6:00 PM for Almería; the MV Azores, arriving at 8:00 AM from Leixões and departing at 3:00 PM for Avonmouth; and the Hamburg, which will remain docked in A Coruña the longest, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The three ships together carry approximately 1,500 passengers and 700 crew members.
This first triple call comes at the height of spring, the busiest time for the cruise industry in the city, as it traditionally receives the most passengers due to the scheduling of European cruise routes. Specifically, 30 calls and approximately 40,000 passengers are expected during April and May. A total of 15 multiple calls are scheduled throughout the year. Also noteworthy is the presence in A Coruña of large ships such as the Explorer of the Seas, with a capacity for 3,000 passengers, the Britannia, and the Anthem of the Seas, one of the most modern in the current fleets, which can accommodate more than 4,000 passengers.
In addition to the spring season, a strong autumn season is expected, with 15 ships forecast for September. The overall forecast for the entire year remains positive, with 130,000 passengers and 50,000 crew members expected across the 93 scheduled port calls. This represents a total of 180,000 passengers and a slight increase compared to last year, further solidifying A Coruña's position as the leading port on the Cantabrian-Atlantic coast in terms of port calls.
