Holland America Line has opened bookings for five new cruises aboard the Oosterdam, following its transformation as part of Holland America Evolution, the cruise line's largest investment in its fleet in its 153-year history. The new itineraries offer more opportunities to travel aboard the refurbished ship starting October 31, 2027.
The transformation of the Oosterdam will begin ahead of schedule in response to high passenger demand for the refurbished ship. The first of the new itineraries will be the 10-day Adriatic Antiquities cruise, departing from Rome and sailing to Trieste, allowing passengers to discover the ancient wonders of Pompeii and Sicily, the Greek island of Corfu, the spectacular Bay of Kotor in Montenegro, and the Adriatic coast of Croatia.
Taken together, the new voyages will allow passengers to be among the first to discover the ship after its transformation in Marseille, France, thus inaugurating a new stage in its history.
“One of the great joys of travel is being among the first to discover something new, and these itineraries offer our guests that opportunity aboard Oosterdam,” said Beth Bodensteiner, President of Holland America Line. “As the first ship to complete the Holland America Evolution transformation, Oosterdam marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our fleet. We are thrilled to welcome guests on these first post-refurbishment cruises and invite them to discover a transformation that retains everything they love about Holland America Line while introducing the exciting new features to come.”.
The return of the Oosterdam to service marks a new phase of Holland America Evolution, a multi-year modernization program designed to bring the highlights of the Pinnacle class experience to more ships in the fleet, as well as incorporating new spaces and accommodations.
On board the refurbished Oosterdam, passengers will find new categories of cabins and suites, including the Solo Verandahs, designed specifically for individual travelers; the Bridgeview Suites, located at the front of the ship and with panoramic views; the Vista Suites and a refurbished Pinnacle Suite.
The ship will also feature the Grand Dutch Café and a redesigned Ocean Bar, incorporating some of the most popular spaces from Holland America Line's Pinnacle-class ships. The renovated accommodations and public areas will be complemented by the premium service, carefully curated itineraries, and welcoming atmosphere that characterize the cruise line.
The first cruises of the Oosterdam after its transformation
Once the dry dock work is complete, the Oosterdam will embark on its first cruise after the refurbishment, a 10-day Adriatic itinerary departing on October 31, 2027, from Civitavecchia (Rome) and arriving in Trieste, Italy. Passengers will be among the first to experience the refurbished ship as they visit destinations in Italy, Greece, Montenegro, and Croatia.
This trip will be followed by four other itineraries that will take the Oosterdam from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean:
- Adriatic Antiquities: Croatia, Greek Isles & Istanbul, 11 days. Departure on November 10, 2027 from Trieste and arrival in Piraeus (Athens), Greece.
- Mediterranean Splendor: Greek Isles & Malta, 7 days. Departure on November 21, 2027 from Piraeus and arrival in Barcelona.
- Cultural Crossing: Spain & Gibraltar, 13 days. Departure on November 28, 2027 from Barcelona and arrival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
- Caribbean Cruise, 11 days. Departure on December 11, 2027, round trip from Fort Lauderdale.
These five itineraries will allow passengers to discover the new features introduced by Holland America Evolution in three different regions and be among the first to sail aboard the Oosterdam after its transformation.
