Azamara Cruises is expanding its golf travel offerings with the launch of an exclusive partnership with Premier Golf, the official golf travel partner of the PGA of America. The collaboration features a collection of eight dedicated golf cruises for 2027 and 2028, allowing enthusiasts to combine rounds on some of the world's most renowned courses with Azamara's intimate, destination-focused cruising style.
The offering extends across all four Azamara ships and covers Ireland, Scotland, the British Isles, Northern Europe, the Pacific coast, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Throughout the voyage, passengers can enjoy prestigious golf courses, immersive onshore experiences, and Azamara's signature extended stays and late nights in port. The collection includes access to iconic courses such as Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland, Torrey Pines South in California, and Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand.
The opportunity to play on some of the legendary links courses, combined with the experience of traveling with Azamara Cruises, offers golf enthusiasts a new way to combine their favorite sport with the freedom to discover and enjoy some of the most attractive destinations in the world.
"Golf and travel are driven by passion and a spirit of discovery, and this partnership brings both interests together in a way that is a perfect fit for Azamara," says Dondra Ritzenthaler, CEO of Azamara Cruises.
"Our passengers can play on some of the world's most sought-after courses while enjoying our intimate ships, longer stays, and immersive destination experiences that set Azamara Cruises apart. It's a new way of experiencing a golf getaway, where the journey between rounds also becomes part of the experience.".
A golf collection for every type of player
The Premier Golf collection offers two different ways to enjoy golf at sea: Classic Collection and Leisure Collection.
The Classic Collection is designed for the most experienced golfers who are looking for traditional links courses and courses included on any player's wish list, including some where walking is an essential part of the experience.
Meanwhile, the Leisure Collection offers a more accessible option, with courses suitable for buggy play and designed for casual enthusiasts, groups with different skill levels, and travelers who want to combine time on the course with exploring destinations on land.
Four of Premier Golf's eight cruises —Ireland, Scotland, the British Isles and Northern Europe— offer both Classic and Leisure options, so passengers can choose the experience that best suits their playing style.
The other four cruises —Pacific Coast, Vietnam and Thailand, Australia and New Zealand, and New Zealand and Australia— offer a unique collection.
Depending on the cruise and package chosen, golfers can enjoy between three and five rounds of golf. Packages generally include transfers to the course, buggies or caddies when applicable, lunch at each course, and welcome and farewell celebrations.
The inaugural Premier Golf Cruiser collection includes:
- Pacific Coast Golf Cruise – Azamara Quest | May 17-24, 2027
- Golf Cruise to Vietnam and Thailand – Azamara Pursuit | October 3-16, 2027
- Golf Cruise to Australia and New Zealand – Azamara Pursuit | January 5-21, 2028
- New Zealand and Australia Golf Cruise – Azamara Onward | February 15-March 1, 2028
- Ireland Golf Cruise (Intensive) – Azamara Quest | May 20-June 1, 2028
- Scottish Golf Cruise (Intensive) – Azamara Quest | June 1-13, 2028
- British Isles Golf Cruise and The Open – Azamara Journey | August 3-17, 2028
- Northern Europe Golf Cruise – Azamara Quest | August 21–September 2, 2028
The British Isles cruise also includes a guided walking tour on Sunday of the Old Course at St Andrews, allowing passengers to experience one of the most iconic settings in golf history beyond the rounds included in their package.
For travelers who want to extend their experience beyond the cruise, Azamara Cruises and Premier Golf have also created five pre- and post-cruise golf experiences in four destinations: Mission Hills in Shenzhen; La Jolla in California; Sentosa Island in Singapore; and Te Arai in New Zealand.
Designed as a complement to cruises, these extensions allow you to add new rounds on renowned courses and prolong your stay in some of the world's most outstanding golf destinations.
Options include a post-cruise round at Torrey Pines South in La Jolla; rounds at Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore; and two-night getaways that include rounds at Te Arai North and South courses in New Zealand.
In addition, Azamara and Premier Golf are developing new pre- and post-cruise experiences, with the aim of offering travelers more opportunities to combine their passion for golf with an Azamara cruise.
“With Azamara, the journey between courses is just as important as the rounds themselves,” says Jason Vallee, Chief Operating Officer of Premier Golf. “This partnership brings together exceptional golf, extraordinary destinations, and a travel style that allows golfers to discover more of each region along the way.”.
