ALMACO Group has successfully completed a modernization project aboard Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas during the ship's scheduled dry-dock stay at the Navantia shipyard in Cádiz, Spain. The project was completed in May 2026.
The project included the addition of new cabin areas in the bow section of the ship, as well as the conversion of existing public spaces into accommodation areas. The work was carried out under a demanding schedule and in a complex operational environment, requiring detailed planning and close coordination with all parties involved in the project.
The work carried out by ALMACO included the construction of a new accommodation block in the bow area, comprising 7 panoramic suites and 21 cabins. In addition, part of the Wonderland restaurant facilities, spread over two decks, were converted into accommodation spaces, allowing for the addition of 29 new cabins.
A soundproof ceiling was also installed in the Music Hall, located just below the new cabin area, with the aim of reducing noise transmission.
The project preparation lasted approximately seven months and included design and engineering work, material procurement, planning and coordination with the shipbuilder and other contractors.
The Harmony of the Seas arrived in Cádiz in April for a 44-day dry dock stay. During the work, ALMACO mobilized up to 240 professionals at the facilities and managed the transport of approximately 86 TEUs of materials to Cádiz.
The project was completed thanks to the close collaboration between ALMACO, the shipyard, the shipowner and the other partners involved.
