Royal Caribbean 's fourth Icon-class ship , Hero of the Seas, reached an iconic milestone in its construction and floated for the first time. The final phase of construction now begins at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland, ahead of its debut in August 2027 in Miami.
As part of the launch, the ship's dry dock was filled with over 340 million liters of water overnight before Hero was moved to the outfitting pier, where it will continue to take shape over the next year.
