The company's new and largest ship will feature the industry's most comprehensive Thermal Spa experience, designed for relaxation and rejuvenation; Tamara, NCL's first specialty restaurant dedicated to Indian cuisine; and The Panorama Room, an immersive dining experience included in the price.
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) today unveiled its new wellness and dining offerings that will be available on board the Norwegian Aura, its largest ship to date and the latest evolution of the award-winning Prima Plus Class, designed to offer every passenger the freedom and options they need to enjoy their vacation exactly as they want—without having to compromise on anything.
Guided by guest feedback and NCL’s brand promise—that the best vacations are those where no one has to settle for less of the experiences they want most— Norwegian Aura will incorporate more of the elements that guests love to create unforgettable moments for families, couples, solo travelers, and all types of guests.
Among the new features are the industry's most extensive Thermal Suite, with 15 wellness experiences designed for relaxation, recovery, and revitalization; Tamara, NCL's first specialty restaurant dedicated to Indian cuisine; and The Panorama Room, an immersive reinterpretation of the dining experience included on board.
Throughout the ship, passengers’ favorite restaurants, bars, and lounges have also been redesigned and relocated to create more space and inviting places to gather, making it easier to move from one experience to the next.
"Norwegian Aura is all about offering passengers more of what they love, with spaces and experiences that make their vacations even easier," said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line.
“From Tamara, our new Indian specialty restaurant, which expands Indulge’s already popular dining offerings to elevate them to a higher culinary experience; to the immersive dining experience at The Panorama Room and our largest Thermal Suite to date, each addition has been deliberately designed to offer guests more freedom, choices, and opportunities to relax, recharge, and enjoy their vacation their way—without compromise.” (Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.)
A NEW ERA OF WELL-BEING AT SEA
Spanning two decks, Mandara Spa—designed by the Rockwell Group—will harness the restorative power of nature to create a spacious wellness sanctuary, with spaces and experiences inspired by the forest canopy, cave-like retreats, waterfalls, and the rhythms of nature.
At the heart of this experience is the industry’s largest Thermal Suite, offering 15 wellness services, including 11 new spaces and experiences designed around the principles of contrast therapy. Passengers can alternate between warm and cool spaces, aquatic elements, and tranquil relaxation areas to create their own relaxation routine—whether to unwind after a day ashore, recover from the journey, or simply enjoy a moment of calm at sea.
Among the highlights is the Sensory Rain Pool, the first of its kind at sea. This 360-degree immersive experience transforms calm waters into a tropical downpour and, ultimately, into a spectacular thunderstorm, complete with simulated lightning effects and the sound of thunder, enveloping passengers in nature in an unforgettable way.
As part of the Thermal Suite's contrast therapy program, several new aquatic and thermal treatments have been added, including:
- Blue Glow Suite, a gentle blue lighting experience designed to promote relaxation and aid in recovery after travel.
- Foot Spa, designed to soothe and refresh tired feet and muscles.
- Waterfall Experience, where passengers can relax as water cascades over their heads and shoulders.
- Snow Cave, with rough, rock-like walls covered in freshly fallen white snow, whose cold therapy benefits are known to help reduce inflammation.
- Reflection Pool, a pool with panoramic ocean views.
- Guided Hot and Cold Plunge Experiences.
Passengers will also be able to enjoy various dedicated relaxation areas throughout the spa, such as a Salt Room, Meditation Lounge, Aromatic Steam Room, Finnish Sauna, Charcoal Sauna, and Zen Lounge.
The spa will also feature 24 treatment rooms, a full-service beauty salon, a Skin Lab, and expanded medi-spa services, including intravenous therapy, NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) injections to boost energy and overall vitality, and acupuncture. The facility will also include a state-of-the-art fitness center with specialized training studios and wellness programs.
NEW DINING EXPERIENCES AND AN EXPANSION OF PASSENGERS' FAVORITES
In line with NCL's commitment to greater freedom of choice and variety, the Norwegian Aura's dining program will feature 22 food and beverage options representing more than 10 different cuisines.
The onboard dining options have been designed so that passengers can eat however they like—whether they're looking for a relaxed family meal, a standout specialty dining experience, or the chance to discover a new international flavor at sea.
The new Tamara will debut aboard the Norwegian Aura as NCL’s first specialty restaurant dedicated to Indian cuisine. Inspired by the enormous popularity of the Indian offerings introduced at Indulge Food Hall with the launch of the Prima Class ships, the new venue will elevate those passenger favorites into a dedicated dining experience, featuring authentic regional dishes in a sophisticated setting inspired by the architecture and craftsmanship of northern India’s temples and courtyards.
Located on Deck 8, the Tamara’s design features warm, earthy tones, intricate details, and an open kitchen—dominated by striking tandoor ovens—creating a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates both culinary tradition and contemporary cuisine.
Passengers will be able to enjoy authentic flavors with dishes such as Short-Rib Dosa, a crispy rice and lentil crepe served with tomato sambar, fenugreek, and coconut chutney; Lamb Biryani, made with basmati rice, aromatic spices, and caramelized onions; and Green Papaya Salad, prepared at the table with pomegranate, tamarind, peanuts, jaggery, and chili.
Another new feature on the Norwegian Aura will be The Panorama Room, a completely reinvented all-inclusive dining experience that transforms the traditional main restaurant through immersive visual technology.
Located on Deck 6, the space will feature large LED screens, multichannel audio, synchronized lighting, and dynamic visual elements that will evolve throughout the day and night, transporting passengers through ever-changing landscapes, works of art, and different scenes as they dine.
In addition, Hudson’s, the iconic main restaurant known for its spectacular 270-degree ocean views, will debut a new, more upscale design.
Beyond the new concepts, the Norwegian Aura's collection of restaurants has been carefully reorganized to offer greater comfort, facilitate access between the different spaces, and create more seating in some of the ship's most popular dining venues.
On Deck 7, passengers will find Le Bistro, featuring a new design and unobstructed ocean views, where they can enjoy classic French cuisine; as well as Sukhothai, which boasts a redesigned interior that celebrates the culture, craftsmanship, and flavors of Thailand.
Palomar, which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, and the Italian restaurant Onda by Scarpetta will be located on Deck 8, where they will have more seating and a new look.
Cagney’s Steakhouse will also undergo a sophisticated redesign, combining rich, dark colors with the classic atmosphere of a modern steakhouse.
The popular Japanese specialty restaurants— Hasuki, which specializes in hibachi, and Nama, which specializes in sushi—will also reopen with a new decor and a lighter color palette to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Additional enhancements include the expansion of Surfside Café, which will now span both sides of the ship to create a more seamless experience for passengers, as well as the return of Indulge Food Hall, which will feature nine globally inspired stations.
Building on the popularity of NCL's culinary offerings at Indulge, passengers will be able to enjoy Mexican dishes inspired by Los Lobos, as well as a new Middle Eastern concept and familiar favorites such as Q Texas Smokehouse, Planterie, and Nudls.
The Local Bar & Grill will be another returning favorite, offering an additional dining option, featuring pub classics practically all day long.
Passengers staying at The Haven, the exclusive, card-access luxury resort, will enjoy a new design at The Haven Bar and Lounge and The Haven Restaurant.
Studio DADO, a regular partner of Norwegian Cruise Line, has designed the private lounge, the restaurant, and the outdoor deck to create an oasis of tranquility that immerses passengers in the natural beauty of the world, featuring earthy tones, a lush canopy of trees, and delicate finishes.
MORE SPACE TO RELAX, GATHER, AND EXPLORE
Throughout the Norwegian Aura, the public spaces have been renovated to be more open, comfortable, and connected, reflecting NCL’s signature hospitality with more space for guests to gather, relax, and move naturally from one experience to another at their own pace.
Bars and lounges throughout the ship will feature renovated interiors and expanded layouts, including a larger Penrose Bar & Atrium with more than twice as many seats and a dedicated stage for daily entertainment.
Passengers will also be able to enjoy the Metropolitan Bar, known for its award-winning menu of sustainable cocktails; the intimate Swirl Wine Bar, a modern lounge specializing in wines; the Belvedere Bar and the Whiskey Bar—all of which have been redesigned to create more open and welcoming spaces where guests can gather, socialize, and enjoy the lively atmosphere on board.
Overlooking the pool on Deck 18, the Daybreak Bar will feature vibrant colors and be the perfect place to feel like you're part of the action.
The updates are designed to make it easier for passengers to find their favorite spot, meet up with friends, and enjoy the ship's atmosphere from day to night.
ADVENTURE, ACTION, AND FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY ABOARD THE NORWEGIAN AURA
The Norwegian Aura will also feature Ocean Heights, a large entertainment, activity, and relaxation center for the whole family, offering parents and children more opportunities to spend time together without sacrificing those moments of fun for adults that make a vacation complete.
This expansive activity area will combine new NCL attractions with redesigned favorites, transforming from day to night through immersive lighting and LED projections.
Adventure seekers can enjoy six slides, the 82-foot Aura Ropes Course, a multi-level obstacle course, the Moon Climber, and Aura Midway, which features carnival-style games and a nine-hole mini-golf course.
For those who prefer to relax, passengers can unwind in NCL’s first cabanas suspended over the water, overlooking the Vibe Beach Club, and enjoy an exclusive bar.
NCL's new ship will make its European debut with a seven-day Mediterranean cruise from Trieste, Italy, to Barcelona, Spain, on May 21, 2027, followed by a 13-day transatlantic cruise to Miami.
During the summers of 2027 and 2028, the Norwegian Aura will offer seven-day cruises through the Eastern Caribbean, with stops at island destinations such as Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, the company’s recently renovated private island in the Bahamas.
In the winter of 2027/28, the Norwegian Aura will offer one-week cruises through the Western Caribbean, visiting tropical destinations such as Roatán (Bay Islands), Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Harvest Caye, NCL’s private resort-style destination off the coast of Belize.
