Heritage Expeditions unveils seven new itineraries for the inaugural 2027-2028 season of its new ship

Heritage Expeditions has unveiled seven new itineraries to mark the launch of the inaugural 2027-2028 season for its new ship, the Heritage Discoverer. Formerly known as the Silver Explorer, the Heritage Discoverer will headline a highly anticipated first season, during which the family-owned and operated New Zealand company will resume its renowned expeditions to the High Arctic and the Antarctic Peninsula, as well as introduce, for the first time, explorations along the coasts of Europe and the Atlantic.

Heritage Expeditions unveils seven new itineraries for the inaugural 2027-2028 season of its new shipHeritage Expeditions owners and directors Aaron Russ and Nathan Russ called the addition of the new vessel and the launch of these carefully crafted itineraries a watershed moment in the company's more than 40-year history.

“This is the beginning of a new era and the birth of a truly global expedition cruise offering for Heritage Expeditions and our guests,” Nathan said.

Aaron Russ added: “Today marks an exciting evolution for Heritage Expeditions as we embark on a new course while maintaining our legacy of authentic and responsible expedition travel on small boats to some of the wildest, least explored, and most biologically rich regions on the planet.

We are thrilled to return to some familiar destinations aboard our new ship, Heritage Discoverer, and to explore new waters with brand-new itineraries, bringing our unique expedition experience to some of the most extraordinary regions in the world.”

The new itineraries combine expeditions to some of the most remote natural and wildlife destinations on the planet, such as Svalbard, Iceland, Greenland, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands and the Faroe Islands, as well as the Hebrides, Orkney, Shetland and the Channel Islands.

They also include visits to UNESCO World Heritage sites, prehistoric monuments, architectural gems, cultural capitals and prestigious wine regions along the coasts of Spain, Portugal and France.
