Travelmarvel presents the maiden voyage of its new European riverboat, the TM Rigel, which will depart from Amsterdam on June 30, 2026 to travel the popular European Gems route to Budapest.
This launch marks a new milestone in Travelmarvel's investment strategy in the river cruise segment, reinforcing its position as one of the most modern fleets sailing on European waterways.
The TM Rigel joins its sister ships, TM Polaris, TM Capella and TM Vega, which operate on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers, completing a fleet of vessels designed to order and built to the same quality standards.
With a capacity for 178 passengers distributed in 89 cabins and attended by a crew of 44 people, the TM Rigel has been designed to meet the expectations of today's traveler, offering a relaxed and immersive way to discover Europe through an all-inclusive proposal.
Paul Melinis, Managing Director of APT Luxury & Travelmarvel for the UK and Europe, said: “European rivers continue to be one of the most sought-after travel experiences in the world, and the launch of the TM Rigel reinforces our confidence in the future of the sector.
Like the rest of the Travelmarvel fleet, Rigel has been designed to blend seamlessly into the destinations it visits. The ship combines contemporary design, comfort, and excellent value, while increasing our capacity on some of Europe's most popular river cruise routes. This is a significant investment for both our fleet and the long-term growth of Travelmarvel's cruise program
The TM Rigel reflects Travelmarvel's commitment to offering a modern, high-quality river cruise experience at a competitive price. Designed for today's traveler, the ship combines contemporary amenities with versatile spaces that allow passengers to enjoy European scenery in complete comfort and at their own pace.
Among its facilities are a large sun deck with jacuzzi, gym and different spaces for dining and social life on board.
Accommodation options include spacious Owner's Suites and French-style Balcony Suites, equipped with electrically operated panoramic windows that allow the Rhine, Main and Danube landscapes to be integrated into the travel experience.
The culinary offerings revolve around the main restaurant, Constellations Restaurant, while the True North Lounge offers a more informal atmosphere for enjoying light meals and drinks.
Passengers can also relax in the unique McGeary's Bar, an exclusive space inspired by the atmosphere of a traditional pub.
The maiden voyage will be marked by a special celebration. On the second day of the journey, July 1, 2026, passengers and crew will gather on the Sun Deck to participate in the traditional ringing of the ship's bell, a symbolic act that will officially mark the start of the TM Rigel's service and a new stage in Travelmarvel's expansion into European river cruising.
From September 2026, the TM Rigel will regularly operate the European Gems itinerary, a 14-night river cruise connecting Amsterdam, the Rhine, Vienna and Budapest.
The experiences included are a gastronomic tour of Miltenberg, a visit to the Augustus Palace, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and a guided tour of the Hungarian State Opera.
The program includes accommodation for 14 nights on board the TM Rigel, round-trip flights from the UK, meals and drinks, as well as excursions throughout the itinerary.
