The Port of Seville welcomed for the first time two high-end, sister cruise ships from the Scenic company: the Eclipse I and Eclipse II. These expedition vessels successfully completed their berthing operations at the Cruise Terminal, which, since the beginning of 2026, has been managed by Global Ports and Ocean Platform Marina (OPM).
Both ships came from Tangier (Morocco), spent one night in Seville, and then departed for different destinations: in the case of the Scenic Eclipse I to Portimao (Portugal) and in the case of the Scenic Eclipse II to Marbella.
There were approximately 350 passengers on board, 187 on Eclipse I and 154 on Eclipse II, with a significant presence from Australia, the United States, and Canada. In addition, there were around 360 crew members.
“We are very pleased with Scenic Cruises' choice of Seville,” stated Rafael Carmona, president of the Port Authority of Seville (APS). To mark this double port call, “the Port of Seville wanted to offer cruise passengers a welcome to the city featuring an equestrian show, as a prelude to the other visits they will enjoy later,” announced the president of the APS. This event represents one of the highlights of the 2026 cruise season, which will feature nearly 90 scheduled port calls.
In the evening, the cruise passengers participated in an event at the Casa de Pilatos, one of Seville's most famous monuments. The event shared the spirit of Andalusia through local cuisine, music, and performing arts, including flamenco artists and a live opera performance accompanied by piano.
As highlighted by the fleet captain, Erwan Le Rouzic, "it is a moment of pride and symbolism to see Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II together in Seville."
Scenic's relationship with the Port of Seville began in April 2022 with the inaugural call of the Eclipse I. The Scenic Eclipse II made its first visit a year later, in April 2023. Since then, the Australian company has called at the Seville docks seven times, without missing a single year.

For her part, the Delegate for Tourism and Culture of the Seville City Council, Angie Moreno, highlighted that “The simultaneous arrival of both ships to the Port of Seville demonstrates our city's ability to offer an exclusive, distinctive and sustainable experience, uniting heritage, culture, gastronomy and hospitality in a unique environment.”.
Angie Moreno also emphasized that “the Seville City Council continues to work hand in hand with the Port Authority and the tourism sector to attract visitors who value excellence and generate a significant economic impact on the city. These cruise ships staying overnight in Seville also allow their passengers to fully enjoy our cultural and historical offerings, reinforcing Seville's image as a major tourist destination in southern Europe.”.
