The acting duo is back in a new series of MSC Cruises. The latest installment of the cruise line's campaign premiered over the weekend and features Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom discovering the best of European style and American comfort aboard MSC Cruises' flagship, MSC World America.
From “Gnocchi and karaoke” at the only Eataly at sea, to “Footy” at a British pub just steps from the Caribbean, the ads show Barrymore and Bloom exploring everything that makes a holiday with MSC Cruises memorable, including afternoon tea at the MSC Yacht Club.
Their personalities—and their distinctly European and American sensibilities—are fully on display as they playfully discuss issues such as the best way to measure the distance to the nearest ice cream shop on board or the humor behind a British celebrity's name coinciding with a Florida city.
Drew Barrymore, actress and host of The Drew Barrymore Show, commented: “I had so much fun finally sailing with Orlando on the MSC World America. I love being the ship's godmother and working with MSC Cruises; they have something for every family. The food at Eataly was delicious, and nothing beats karaoke with a group of new cruise friends. I'm ready for another MSC Cruises adventure!”
Bloom added, “A great vacation lets you see the world, and sailing with MSC Cruises feels like savoring Europe while exploring the Caribbean. Classic afternoon tea followed by football in the sports bar with an ice cream parlor next door… what could possibly go wrong? They’re always adding new destinations, and their ships let you travel with the perfect blend of European style and American comfort, creating a wonderful vacation experience.”.
Suzanne Salas, Executive Vice President of Marketing, E-commerce and Sales at MSC Cruises USA, stated: “Our blend of European style and American comfort is what sets us apart in the US market, and Drew and Orlando do a fantastic job bringing this concept to life. The campaign launch was a huge success. People loved Drew and Orlando’s adventures on board, and I know they’ll enjoy seeing what’s next. We have more options than ever before, with new short cruises from Florida, our itineraries from Galveston, and Alaskan sailings starting this summer. Now is the perfect time to sail with MSC Cruises.”.
The brand campaign brings to life MSC Cruises' combination of European style and American comfort with even more energy and fun, personified by Barrymore and Bloom.
The ads premiered during Wave Season, which coincides with the start of the year and offers some of the best cruise deals. The current promotion includes discounted cruises, onboard credit, and a "Kids Go Free" offer on select sailings. It's valid on all seven ships operating in the U.S., as well as sailings on the rest of the cruise line's global fleet.
