The Emerald Kaia successfully completes sea trials

Emerald Cruises & Tours has reached a significant milestone in the construction of Emerald Kaia, following the successful completion of sea trials in Halong Bay, Vietnam. This important step brings the next-generation superyacht closer to entering service and reflects Scenic Group's commitment to quality, innovation, and delivering unique luxury experiences for guests across its growing fleet.

The Emerald Kaia successfully completes sea trialsThe yacht's initial open-water trials confirmed its performance, maneuverability, and overall seaworthiness. Conducted at the group's shipyard in Halong Bay, these trials were carried out ahead of its maiden voyage from Cyprus to the Acropolis, an 11-day itinerary departing from Limassol on April 4, 2026.

Designed to offer a relaxed luxury yachting experience, Emerald Kaia accommodates only up to 128 guests and has been specifically designed with spacious lounges, terraces, and decks, incorporating Missoni décor and furnishings. New interconnecting suites provide greater flexibility for families and groups, while generously sized staterooms and suites offer contemporary comfort.

Guests will enjoy a new Sun Observation Deck, which includes an additional spa-like pool, sun loungers, and shaded areas—an ideal space to admire expansive coastlines, relax between ports, and toast the sunset at sea. The innovative indoor/outdoor fitness center, equipped with state-of-the-art wellness technology, is located adjacent to the marine platform, allowing guests to stay active in the fresh sea air and then refresh with a swim directly from the platform.

Emerald Kaia will also debut a new design for its flagship restaurant, La Cucina. Guests will enjoy a vibrant open kitchen that brings greater energy and connection to the dining experience, along with the new Night Market Grill*, an intimate private dining experience for just eight guests.

James Griffiths, Managing Director of Ocean Operations at Scenic Group, commented:
“This milestone is a testament to the dedication of everyone involved in the project. From an operational perspective, these sea trials have yielded excellent results and allow us to move forward with confidence into the final commissioning phase. We look forward to welcoming guests aboard Emerald Kaia in April 2026.”

With sea trials now complete, the next milestones for Emerald Kaia include final finishing, delivery, and her eagerly anticipated maiden voyage in April 2026. Emerald Kaia will join Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara in the Emerald Yacht Cruises fleet, ahead of the arrival of future sister yachts Emerald Raiya (2027) and Emerald Xara (2028).
