MSC Cruises will bring Dirty Dancing: In Concert, the live concert created by Lionsgate and GEA Live, to MSC Poesia for its highly anticipated summer season in Alaska, which will begin on May 11, 2026.
Leveraging the existing partnership between MSC Cruises and Lionsgate, MSC Poesia will become the third ship in the company's fleet to offer the successful live concert, following its great success aboard MSC World America, sailing from Miami (USA), and MSC Virtuosa, on its summer voyages from Southampton (UK). The concert will also continue on MSC Virtuosa during its upcoming winter season in the southern Caribbean.
The spectacular 90-minute live concert brings Lionsgate's beloved 1980s film, Dirty Dancing, to life with a live band alongside sensational singers and dancers, performing in sync with the movie.
Passengers traveling aboard MSC Poesia will have the opportunity to enjoy the live concert throughout the cruise, including morning sessions on sailing days, while exploring fascinating destinations in Alaska and Canada from Seattle, USA.
Steve Leatham, Vice President of Entertainment at MSC Cruises, said: “We are delighted to have ‘Dirty Dancing: In Concert’ on board MSC Poesia for MSC Cruises’ first Alaskan cruises this summer season. Following its incredible success since launching on MSC World America and MSC Virtuosa, we are very pleased to be able to offer it on more of our ships so our guests can enjoy this truly unique experience at sea.”
In addition to Dirty Dancing: In Concert, MSC Poesia will offer numerous first-class entertainment options this summer season, including:
- A varied and colorful live music program:
- MSC Dueling Pianos, with two musical performances each night.
- Live jazz, party bands, lounge groups and Latin music spread throughout the ship.
- For MSC Yacht Club passengers, an elegant musical program and an exclusive pianist in the Top Sail Lounge.
- Parties and themed activities, plus a wide-ranging theatrical program that includes seasoned American comedians and large-scale shows such as Divas, performed by a distinguished multifaceted cast.
- Specialized trainers who provide wellness sessions, sports activities, and craft workshops.
- Regional specialists offer expert talks, narrated events, and hands-on workshops that bring Alaska's geography and nature to life.
As recently announced, MSC Poesia will undergo one of the most extensive renovations in MSC Cruises history, including the addition of the MSC Yacht Club, two specialty restaurants, Butcher's Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar, an All-Stars Sports Bar, a newly renovated MSC Aurea Spa, and an MSC gym with an upgraded Technogym®. Passengers aboard MSC Poesia can enjoy these new features during MSC Cruises' inaugural Alaska season, which offers 7-night itineraries to some of the region's most scenic destinations, including Ketchikan, Icy Strait Hoonah, Tracy Arm, and Juneau (Alaska, USA) and Victoria (British Columbia, Canada).
