Trafalgar River Cruises is reinforcing its commitment to experiential travel with the launch of new river cruises to European Christmas markets for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. The company will incorporate European river itineraries for the first time starting in spring 2026 and is now completing its offering with departures specially designed for the Christmas season.
Starting November 25, 2026, Trafalgar will operate these festive cruises aboard two contemporary ships with an intimate atmosphere: the Trafalgar Verity and the Trafalgar Reverie, both with a capacity for 128 passengers. The routes will allow passengers to discover some of Central Europe's most iconic Christmas markets, combining tradition, culture, and a carefully curated onboard experience.
The Trafalgar Verity will sail the Rhine River during the 2026 and 2027 seasons, with itineraries between Basel and Düsseldorf, visiting historic cities and destinations especially known for their Christmas markets. Meanwhile, the Trafalgar Reverie will cruise the Danube in both years, with departures between Budapest and Passau, offering an immersion in the festive atmosphere of Eastern and Central Europe.
These new Christmas river cruises are designed for travelers who want to experience Christmas from an authentic and relaxed perspective, enjoying the charm of traditional markets, local cuisine and typical seasonal decorations, all with the hallmark hospitality and personalized attention that characterizes Trafalgar.
