Explora Journeys celebrates an important step forward in the brand's journey at the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa Sestri Ponente, where three fundamental milestones have marked the next chapter in the evolution of its fleet: the launch of EXPLORA III, the coin ceremony of EXPLORA IV and the steel cutting of EXPLORA V.
These moments reflect Explora Journeys' unwavering commitment to elegant luxury, purposeful travel, and innovative shipbuilding.
The fleet, which will consist of six ships in 2028, is progressing as planned. EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II are already welcoming guests to a new style of elegant ocean travel and are operating at nearly full capacity, reflecting the strong resonance of the brand's offering. EXPLORA III will join the fleet in 2026, followed by EXPLORA IV and EXPLORA V in 2027, and EXPLORA VI in 2028.

Representing the Fincantieri team, Franca Parisi, Director of Quality and Performance Improvement, proudly served as godmother of the ceremony.
The investment of 3.5 billion euros in Explora Journeys' fleet of six ships - all built by Fincantieri - represents a long-term commitment not only to redefining sea travel, but also to the Italian shipbuilding industry.

In just two years since the launch of EXPLORA I, the brand has become a new benchmark in the industry, earning praise from discerning guests worldwide. Its combination of carefully curated itineraries, immersive cultural experiences, elegantly relaxed onboard design, and exceptional service has redefined what it means to travel by sea.
With each new ship that enters service, Explora Journeys continues its purpose: to offer transformative travel experiences that connect guests to the ocean, to themselves, and to the world around them, in a sustainable, elevated, and deeply meaningful way.
Commitment to sustainability
All vessels are equipped with advanced environmental technologies, such as shore power systems that eliminate emissions while in port and underwater noise management systems to protect marine life. A comprehensive suite of onboard energy-efficient systems also ensures optimal engine performance and reduced fuel consumption.
Starting with EXPLORA III, the four newest ships will operate on liquefied natural gas (LNG), a transitional fuel that offers a substantial reduction in emissions compared to conventional marine fuels. These ships are also equipped to use renewable alternatives such as bioLNG and synthetic LNG. EXPLORA V and VI will go even further, with the option of using state-of-the-art fuel cell technology capable of converting LNG into hydrogen to significantly reduce emissions in ports.
