Carnival Cruise Line 's Carnival Valor returned to service today following an extensive dry-dock refurbishment, with significant upgrades that enhance guest comfort and add new features, including a new WaterWorks water park and the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge.
The ship welcomed its first guests on board in Barcelona, marking the debut of its renovations, and will now set sail for New Orleans on a special Carnival Journeys.
In addition to adding new attractions, the renovation also prioritized accessibility, with extensive improvements throughout the public areas, from improved walkways to refurbished facilities. One of the most notable additions is the WaterWorks, featuring twin slides that promise thrills for enthusiasts of all ages.
This popular Carnival attraction transforms the ship's top deck into a fun-filled paradise, perfect for families. And on Deck 5, the addition of the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge provides a dedicated space to honor the many active-duty military personnel and veterans who travel with Carnival. This space is now featured on 16 ships in the fleet.
“The Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge is a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country—and it is fitting that this popular venue is now featured on Carnival Valor, a ship named in honor of our heroes,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We are proud that more military families choose Carnival for their well-deserved vacations than any other cruise line.”
Guests will also notice improvements to staterooms throughout the ship, which now feature new USB ports and enhanced lighting for greater comfort. The casino has been renovated and expanded, offering new gaming options and an improved design. The spa and fitness center has been renamed Cloud 9 Spa, creating a revitalized environment for wellness treatments and exercise routines.
A Dream Studio for personalized photo sessions has been added on Deck 3, and guests can learn about and book shore excursions at the new Carnival Adventures on Deck 5. Younger cruisers will also enjoy refreshed spaces with amenities tailored to different age groups and interests, including a new LED wall at Camp Ocean (a first in the fleet) that offers interactive programming and multiplayer video games for toddlers, as well as new gaming and karaoke experiences at Circle “C” and Club O2 for older children and teens.
Other improvements include general upgrades in all public areas, creating a modern and fresh atmosphere that reflects Carnival's commitment to continuous improvement.
Once it returns to New Orleans, the Carnival Valor will continue its popular year-round itinerary, offering four- and five-day cruises through the Western Caribbean, with stops at well-known Mexican ports such as Cozumel and Progreso.
