The Luminara, the third ultra-luxury superyacht in The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, has officially joined the fleet. Company executives took delivery of the new yacht at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, on June 3, 2025. The moment was commemorated with a traditional handover ceremony that included the changing of the flags and a celebratory toast on the yacht's open deck.
The ceremony was attended by leaders of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, including President Ernesto Fara, along with Laurent Castaing, CEO of Chantiers de l'Atlantique. Also present was Captain Magnus Bengtsson, who will captain Luminara during its inaugural season in the Mediterranean, beginning on July 3, 2025, when the yacht sets sail on a seven-day voyage from Monaco to Rome.

The Luminara, whose name comes from the Latin word for “light,” is 242 meters (794 feet) long and can accommodate up to 452 passengers in 226 suites, each with a private terrace and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer an uninterrupted connection with the sea. Designed in collaboration with leading design studios, the yacht features public spaces conceived by the Canadian firm Chapi Chapo Luxury Division; suites by the London-based firm AD Associates; and lighting designed by DPA. The sculptural lighting and curved architectural lines evoke the movement of water, creating harmony between the yacht’s elegant interiors and the marine environment. The refined exterior was designed by the Helsinki-based studio Aivan, reflecting the elegance and fluidity of private yacht design.
The Luminara boasts five restaurants, seven bars, a wine cellar, and collaborations with award-winning chefs Fabio Trabocchi and Michael Mina, who bring their culinary perspectives to the sea. Other standout amenities include a panoramic pool area on Deck 10 with two Jacuzzis; The Art Bar, a new onboard destination offering coffee service and destination-inspired treats with breathtaking ocean views; and the brand's signature Marina, featuring a spacious deck and a dynamic floating platform where guests can swim, relax, and enjoy water sports in select ports.
To further enhance the guest experience, The Ritz-Carlton Spa® offers restorative treatments using products from ESPA, 111SKIN, and Pisterzi, along with dedicated wellness and fitness areas. Luminara also introduces a refined luxury shopping experience, featuring Swiss watches from Cartier and IWC Schaffhausen, as well as fine jewelry and watch collections from Piaget.
Following its inaugural season, Luminara will continue the expansion of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection into new regions, sailing through Africa and the Indian Ocean before commencing Asia-Pacific itineraries in December 2025. These voyages will explore captivating destinations and hidden gems, including Ha Long Bay, Osaka, and Bangkok. In May 2026, Luminara will arrive in Alaska and Canada, offering travelers exclusive access to some of the world’s most breathtaking natural wonders.
