Swan Hellenic presents its enhanced Antarctic voyages for 2026-2027, featuring twenty-four 9- to 13-night circular voyages from its home port in Ushuaia, plus a 20-night semi-circumnavigation voyage from Cape Town.
The cultural expedition cruise line has garnered increasing interest thanks to its expertly led voyages and wide variety of itineraries, some of which venture further south into the Antarctic Circle than other expedition options. Other attractions include Swan Hellenic's exceptional guest service and its elegant yet informal polar-class boutique ships, SH Vega and SH Diana, accommodating 152 and 192 passengers, respectively.
The heart of the season consists of 24 circular voyages departing from Ushuaia, the “end of the world” city in southern Argentina. Each follows one of five expertly selected routes to explore the Antarctic Peninsula in depth, three of which approach it from the rarely visited Weddell Sea. Known as one of the clearest bodies of water on the planet, this is where explorer Ernest Shackleton had to abandon his ship, the Endurance, trapped in the ice.
Special celebratory cruises are offered for Christmas, New Year's, and the Chinese New Year of the Horse. Specifically, SH Vega will combine Christmas and New Year's into a 13-night round-trip voyage to Ushuaia, from December 22, 2026, to January 3, 2027.
Complementing these round-trip journeys is a more extensive itinerary: the 20-night South Atlantic Cruise, from Cape Town, South Africa, to Ushuaia aboard the SH Diana. This ocean exploration voyage will visit remote locations such as St. Helena, Ascension Island, and Tristan da Cunha, the most remote inhabited archipelago in the world, as well as the South Sandwich Islands and South Georgia Island, where Shackleton's grave lies.
New features for the 2026-2027 season
A new and distinctive feature of Swan Hellenic's Antarctic cruises for the 2026-2027 season will be the opportunity to experience snow trekking. Led by experts, these expeditions will allow passengers—both beginners and experienced hikers—to explore beyond what a traditional landing permits. Lasting approximately one and a half hours, each trek will be led by two experienced mountaineers and will be subject to snow conditions.
All Swan Hellenic cruises are all-inclusive and include fine dining, expert lectures, and expeditions led by experts.
