The Allure of the Seas is proof of this, being one of the most popular ships in the Royal Caribbean and the most awarded cruise ship in the world. The ship is currently at the Navantia shipyard in Cádiz for an imminent refurbishment of many of its facilities and will return to sailing the Mediterranean from Barcelona starting in April 2025. As part of this $100 million-plus renovation and expansion program, this Oasis-class maritime behemoth will soon offer new facilities, restaurants, and experiences to further amaze its passengers.
Among its upgrades are the Ultimate Abyss, a thrilling 10-story dry slide that only the most daring and courageous return to; The Perfect Storm, a duo of three-deck-high water slides; Laser Tag, where laser guns clash in a glow-in-the-dark setting and only one force can gain the upper hand; an Escape Room with 60 minutes to uncover hidden clues, solve mind-bending puzzles, and decipher complex codes to break free; the Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, a sports bar with games and entertainment, featuring a menu full of your favorite game-day snacks and a variety of ice-cold beers; Loco Fresh, a fast-casual favorite focused on delicious Mexican staples; and the Panoramic Suites, two new and luxurious suites located above the bridge offering 200-degree ocean views, a spacious walk-in closet, a renovated bathroom, and a dining area that can accommodate up to four people.
In addition, the ship will offer new restaurants and bars for passengers to enjoy, including Pesky Parrot, a slice of the Caribbean and the perfect tropical spot to kick off your getaway with fruit-based drinks made with rum, tequila, and gin; The Lime & Coconut, featuring a DJ, live music, and two bars serving your favorite cocktails by the pool; and The Mason Jar, a Southern-style restaurant and bar that brings that homey feel with unique takes on Country classics, Bayou staples, and some of the best barbecue at sea.
The pool deck will also be renovated, now offering a resort style for a more relaxing experience, and the spaces specially designed for children and teenagers will also be renovated, as well as Splashaway Bay, the interactive water park for the little ones.
The Allure of the Seas has been designed to offer entertainment and comfort to passengers of all ages across its seven neighborhoods. The ship features five pools and 16 whirlpools for relaxation and fun; FlowRider surf simulators, zip lines, rock climbing walls, and an ice-skating rink as part of its extreme entertainment; family activities such as mini-golf, the carousel, and the AquaTheater, as well as the West End shows; the Vitality Spa, fitness center, and running track for wellness; and nightlife in its many bars and nightclubs, including Casino Royale, Boleros, Blaze , and Dazzles , with live music, cocktails prepared by a robot bartender, DJs, karaoke, Latin rhythms, and much more.
The refurbished ship will also offer a remarkable dining experience, featuring a wide range of culinary options, including those included in the fare and specialty restaurants at an additional cost. Included options include the Windjammer Buffet, Main Dining Room, Park Café, Solarium Bistro, El Loco Fresh, Café Promenade , and Sorrento’s, among others. Specialty restaurants on the Allure include 150 Central Park, with delicious dishes made with locally sourced ingredients; Chops Grille, specializing in steaks; Giovanni's Table, with delicious traditional Italian dishes with a contemporary twist; Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, one of the best Japanese dining experiences on a cruise; Johnny Rockets, focused on classic American dishes; and Chef's Table, the most exclusive and elevated dining experience for an intimate group of food lovers.Exclusive options include Coastal Kitchen for suite guests and Starbucks for coffee lovers.
Starting in April, the revamped Allure of the Seas will offer several Mediterranean itinerary, departing from Barcelona:
- Spain and France (4 nights): Barcelona – Provence (Marseille) – Palma de Mallorca – Barcelona. Departing on April 11.
- France and Italy (5 nights): Barcelona – Provence (Marseille) – Florence/Pisa – Rome (Civitavecchia) – Barcelona. Departing on April 15.
- Western Mediterranean (7 nights): Barcelona – Palma de Mallorca – Florence/Pisa – Rome – Naples/Capri – Barcelona. Departing every week from April 20th to October.
