Royal Caribbean International has begun construction of the third Icon Class ship, which will debut in 2026.
Construction of the third Icon Class boat, which will soon be named, is officially underway, and the milestone was marked by a keel-laying ceremony at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland. This next boat is on track to make its debut in 2026, and further details will be revealed in the coming months.
The celebration marked the placement of the first construction block in the dry dock, where the new ship will take shape. The Royal Caribbean and Meyer Turku teams who will bring the new cruise ship to life witnessed the milestone and placed newly minted coins as a symbol of good luck before the enormous steel block was lifted and set in place.
The Icon Class will continue with the debut of Star of the Seas at Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, and will continue with a fourth ship in 2027 and options for a fifth and sixth in the future.
