The Silver Nova , the first of Silversea 's Nova-class ships , arrived in Hong Kong on October 24, 2024, on its first stop during its inaugural season in Asia.
Currently, the ship is undertaking Silversea's 2024 Venetian Society Reunion voyage , which began in Tokyo on October 15 and will end in Singapore on October 31.
One of the highlights of Venetian Society reunion was an exclusive event at the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival at Central Harbourfront, with VIP access for Venetian Society. Thanks to the close collaboration between Silversea and the Hong Kong Tourism Board, this exclusive event, held within the festival, marked a milestone as the first collaboration of its kind.
Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea, who joined the Venetian Society Reunion trip in Hong Kong, welcomed Silversea's guests to this special event.
“I am delighted to host my first Venetian Society
Reunion voyage as Chairman of Silversea, celebrating the loyalty of our guests aboard our beautiful Silver Nova,” said Bert Hernandez, Chairman of Silversea. “ It is personally very special to return to Asia, where I lived for several years. On behalf of the entire Silversea team, I would like to thank the Hong Kong Tourism Board for their invaluable collaboration and for providing our guests with exclusive access to the Wine & Dine Festival, a truly special event in the heart of Hong Kong. Our Venetian Society Reunion voyages bring together the extended Silversea family, allowing like-minded travelers to enjoy exclusive events at the destinations while traveling in the unparalleled comfort that defines Silversea.”
“Silversea Cruises is a world-renowned, ultra-luxury cruise brand,” said Mr. Dane Cheng, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). “We are delighted that they have chosen Hong Kong as one of the Silver Nova’s destinations and that they are hosting an exclusive activity for cruise guests at the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival, HKTB’s flagship annual food and beverage event. This not only marks the largest collaboration between HKTB and the cruise industry but also allows visitors to experience the city’s unique culinary atmosphere, contributing to the development of cruise tourism in Hong Kong.”
During the event, guests enjoyed a performance by an ensemble from the Hong Kong Chinese Symphony Orchestra and a private tasting of award-winning Chinese wines, presented by Ian Dai, the talented sommelier, winemaker, and founder of Xiaopu. Dai's carefully curated selections included the high-altitude Domaine de la Gyalthang 2021 Chardonnay and the house red wine Gathering Signature, paired with Michelin-starred dim sum from chefs Robin Zavou and Lung of Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong.
Following the performance and wine tasting, guests enjoyed privileged access to the Harbourview Lounge and explored the festival's attractions, which included 300 tasting booths featuring extraordinary culinary experiences from 35 countries, showcasing a variety of local and international cuisine.
