The Port of Ceuta experienced, for the first time, the simultaneous arrival of two cruise ships at the Muelle España dock since it was adapted for cruise ships.
This event highlights the growing interest that major international cruise companies are showing in Ceuta as a destination and confirms the port's ability to efficiently manage multiple dockings.
The Spirit of Discovery, from Saga Cruises, arrived at the España dock from Mahón and continued its journey to Portsmouth (United Kingdom), where its itinerary will conclude. It is worth noting that this ship already visited the Port of Ceuta on October 1st, as did its sister ship, the Spirit of Adventure, which called at Ceuta on September 17th, reflecting Saga Cruises' confidence in the Port of Ceuta.
Meanwhile, the Villa Vie Odyssey, arriving from Villa Vie Residences, docked at the west side of Muelle España (Spain Wharf) en route to Gibraltar. This cruise ship arrived in Ceuta for the first time, coming from Tangier. It's also worth noting that during its maiden voyage, this luxury ship will sail to 425 destinations in 147 countries over three years. It departed Belfast on October 3rd and will visit ports in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, the United Kingdom, and Senegal, among others.
This time, we welcomed approximately 1,200 tourists, in addition to 700 crew members, which represented a significant opportunity for local businesses, restaurants, and other tourist services such as excursions and guided tours. Furthermore, these types of port calls allow Ceuta to position itself as an attractive cultural and leisure destination with great potential on international cruise itineraries.

From a logistical standpoint, the Port Authority of Ceuta prepared an operation to guarantee safety during both port calls. Furthermore, coinciding with the visit of the cruise ship AMERA last Friday, October 11, the port installed new signage to improve operations and help tourists navigate the docking area more easily.
For their part, the Tourist Services offered several information points in some languages, shuttle buses, guided tours of the city center and other tourist attractions, etc., which allowed cruise passengers to enjoy Ceuta.
