Windstar Cruises has announced the promotion of Stijn Creupelandt to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Creupelandt's rise and the internal restructuring of Windstar's operations management come as Paul Barrett, the company's vice president of marine and technical operations, announces his retirement, which will take effect in April 2025.
Stijn Creupelandt, a veteran of more than 20 years in the luxury cruise industry, joined Windstar Cruises in 2021 as Vice President of Hotel Operations and Product Development. He was previously Director of Hotel Services at Seabourn, where he began his career as a waiter on the Seabourn Pride (now Windstar's Star Pride) before rising to executive leadership positions. Creupelandt is part of the line's experienced onboard management team, joining Windstar President Christopher Prelog, who also rose from the ranks of waiter, among other line leaders with diverse backgrounds as former crew members at sea.
At Windstar, Creupelandt will continue to oversee the leadership, management, and operation of the Windstar guest experience, hotel services, and product development, while also overseeing the company's operational functions across maritime and technical operations. Current high-profile initiatives include the design and product development of two new ships – Star Seeker and Star Explorer; the development of new cruising regions for the fleet; the interior redesign of the three Wind Class sailing ships; and innovation in Windstar's culinary offerings.

Paul Barrett has been with Windstar Cruises since 2017. With over 30 years of experience in marine engineering and technical operations, Barrett has been responsible for all of Windstar's marine and technical operations.

Windstar has begun searching for a new vice president of hotel operations to join the team in Miami.
