Princess Cruises adds a second cruise option for the August 2026 Total Solar Eclipse, this time aboard its newest and most impressive ship, the Sun Princess.
The shipping company has modified the itinerary of the Sun Princess, which will depart from Barcelona on August 8, 2026, to place the ship off the coast of southern Spain on August 12, where it can be viewed for two minutes and 18 seconds.
The Sun Princess Total Solar Eclipse 2026 itineraries include six incredible and attractive departures for all cruisers:
- 22-day round-trip cruise from Rome departing on July 25, 2026. Stops in: Naples, Crete, Kusadasi, Mykonos, Athens, Santorini, Bar, Corfu, Sicily, Barcelona, Gibraltar, Cartagena and Florence/Pisa.
- 15-day cruise from Athens to Rome departing on August 1, 2026. Stopovers in: Santorini, Bar Corfu, Sicily, Barcelona, Gibraltar, Cartagena, Florence/Pisa.
- 22-day round-trip cruise from Athens departing on August 1, 2026. Stops in: Santorini, Bar, Corfu, Sicily, Barcelona, Gibraltar, Cartagena, Florence/Pisa, Rome, Naples, Crete, Kusadasi and Mykonos.
- 8-day cruise from Barcelona to Rome departing on August 8, 2026. Stops in: Gibraltar, Cartagena, Florence/Pisa.
- 15-day cruise from Barcelona to Athens departing on August 8, 2026. Stops in: Gibraltar, Cartagena, Florence/Pisa, Rome, Naples, Crete, Kusadasi, Mykonos.

Voyages to the 2026 Total Solar Eclipse aboard the Sun Princess are now on sale. During the eclipse, Sun Princess passengers will gather on the upper decks, equipped with safety glasses provided by the cruise line, and enjoy lectures by astronomy experts, themed snacks and drinks, nighttime stargazing, solar system trivia games, and much more. Passengers are even encouraged to set up their own telescopes on deck and wear festive eclipse-themed clothing and accessories.
The 15-day Total Solar Eclipse cruise through the Mediterranean aboard the Sky Princess, with a capacity for 3,560 passengers, departs from August 8 to 22, 2026, round trip from Southampton, and visits seven historic and vibrant ports, including Cherbourg (France), Bilbao (Spain), Malaga (Spain), Cartagena (Spain), Gibraltar, Lisbon and La Coruña (Spain).
